Ceiling mounting is possible, but it depends on the structure behind your ceiling. For wall mount, vertical studs usually give you more flexible support along the wall. For ceiling mount, the rod or track must be secured into ceiling joists or another solid structure.

If the ceiling joists do not run across your desired mounting line, you may need to install the rod or track where the joists are located. This can make the curtain sit farther away from the wall than expected.

Before choosing ceiling mount, please confirm the joist position with a stud finder or consult a professional installer. If you are not sure, wall mount is usually the safer and more flexible option.
