Inside Mount

Step 1: Check Window Depth

Measure from the front edge of the window frame straight back toward the glass. This is your window depth. Also check for handles, cranks, locks, sensors, or window openers inside the frame. These obstacles may reduce the usable depth or block the shade from moving smoothly. Make sure the clear depth meets the minimum requirement before choosing inside mount.
Step 2: Measure Inside Width

Measure the inside width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest width, and round down to the nearest 1/8 inch.
Step 3: Measure Inside Height

Measure the inside height from the top of the opening to the sill at the left, center, and right. Use the largest height so the shade fully covers the opening.
Step 4: Apply Product Deduction

Record your measurements, then subtract the required width deduction for your shade type before ordering. Height is usually ordered as measured, but the product page should take priority.

Step 1: Check Mounting Space

Check the flat space above the window frame. Make sure there is enough room for the headrail and brackets before choosing outside mount.
Step 2: Measure Outside Width

Measure from the left outer edge of the window frame to the right outer edge. This is your base window width.
Step 3: Add Side Coverage

Add 2–3 inches on each side to reduce light gaps and improve privacy. This adjusted number is your order width.
Step 4: Measure Outside Height

Measure from your planned top mounting position down to the bottom of the window frame or desired shade endpoint. Add height for full coverage.
